First of all, what datatype is 'WordID'? Is it auto-creating? you show it as an object here: <asp:Parameter Name="wordID" Type="Object" />

Do the casting on both side, so try thisDeleteCommand="DELETE FROM [lusHmoob] WHERE Cast(wordID as VARCHAR(36) = CAST(@wordID as VARCHAR(36)

Please use Guid.NewGuid().ToString() to update your guid. You cannot write a string there.
